Martin D. Schaffer, MD, FACC, FACP, FCCP
attended the University of California, Los Angeles School of Medicine, where he received the Stafford L. Warren Medal for outstanding academic adhievement. He completed his internship, residency, and general cardiology fellowship at UCLA Hospital. Dr. Schaffer then pursued a fellowship in advanced interventional cardiology at the Daniel Freeman Heart Center. He is board certified in both internal medicine and cardiology. Dr. Schaffer has been elected as a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology, American College of Physicians, and American College of Chest Physicians. He is a Founding Member of the Society of Cardiovascular Computed Tomography, as well as, a Member of the American Society of Nuclear Cardiology, American College of Physician Executives, Nevada State Medical Association, and Clark County Medical Society. Dr. Schaffer has been listed in The National Registry Of Who's Who , as well as, several times in the prestigious publication, The Best Doctors In America.  He has been the cardiology representative to the Nevada Medicare Carrier Advisory Committee. Dr. Schaffer has served as Secretary of Staff and as a member of the Medical Executive Committee at Sunrise Hospital, as well as, Vice Chief and Chief of Cardiology. He was Chairman of the Credentials Committee at MountainView Hospital, where he was a member of the Medical Executive Committee for eight years. Dr. Schaffer has served as Chief of Staff at MountainView Hospital, as well as, Chairman of the Medical Executive Committee. Additionally, he has had the honor of serving as the Vice Chairman and Chairman of the Board of Trustees at MountainView Hospital. Dr. Schaffer is currently serving his second term as a Member of the Board Of Trustees of the Clark County Medical Society. He practices general cardiology with special emphasis on nuclear cardiology, and aggressive risk factor reduction strategies. He is married to Dr. Sharon Schaffer, and has a son.
