A message from Dr. Sirulnick:

I am Erik Sirulnick, MD, a cardiovascular electrophysiologist at Nevada Cardiology Associates (NCA). Ive been with NCA for a few years, but have been practicing in Las Vegas for close to 20 years. I am a specialist often tasked with treating patients with a condition called atrial fibrillation (afib). Atrial fibrillation is the most common cardiac arrythmia, is unfortunately a leading cause of stroke, and is often quite symptomatic for people. The cardiac procedure known as catheter ablation is an important therapeutic option for patients with Afib.

Myself and Dr Niuton Koide MD, an electrophysiologist who works for Mountain View Hospital, performed the first cardiac ablation using a state of the art technology called Pulse Field Ablation, or PFA. PFA is a safer way to deliver energy to the nerves of the heart in order to suppress atrial fibrillation. This advanced technology was FDA approved earlier this year, but requires some expensive equipment, so it has taken some time for it to come to our state and city. We are grateful to Mountain View Hospital for committing to this new technology so now , since yesterday , we are able to bring this vital new procedure to Las Vegas. I am proud to represent NCA in being the first to perform this groundbreaking procedure in Nevada yesterday!
