Abbott Volt PFA Catheter
Nevada Cardiology is proud to mark a major milestone in local heart care: the successful completion of our first week using Abbott’s newly FDA-approved Volt™ Pulsed Field Ablation (PFA) System. Led by Dr. Erik Sirulnick, these initial procedures performed at MountainView Hospital signal a new era of treatment for Southern Nevadans living with atrial fibrillation (AFib). By adding this state-of-the-art, non-thermal technology to our toolkit, our team continues its commitment to bringing the safest, most advanced cardiac care to our community.

The NFL Wives Club
Heart health awareness extends far beyond the clinic walls. Dr. Erik Sirulnick of Nevada Cardiology recently sat down with retired NFL players and members of the NFL Wives Club in Las Vegas to discuss atrial fibrillation (AFib) and cardiovascular longevity. Despite the unique physical demands of professional sports, the message remains universal: early detection, knowing your risk factors, and taking control of your heart health matter for every body.

Physician Excellence Award
Dr. Sirulnick was recently honored with a Physician Excellence Award, nominated by one of his patients at Mountain View Hospital in recognition of his exemplary care and dedication to his patients.

A message from Dr. Sirulnick:
I am Erik Sirulnick, MD, a cardiovascular electrophysiologist at Nevada Cardiology Associates (NCA). Ive been with NCA for a few years, but have been practicing in Las Vegas for close to 20 years. I am a specialist often tasked with treating patients with a condition called atrial fibrillation (afib). Atrial fibrillation is the most common cardiac arrythmia, is unfortunately a leading cause of stroke, and is often quite symptomatic for people. The cardiac procedure known as catheter ablation is an important therapeutic option for patients with Afib.
In June 2024, Dr. Niuton Koide, MD, an electrophysiologist at Mountain View Hospital, and I performed the first cardiac ablation in Nevada using a state-of-the-art technology called Pulse Field Ablation, or PFA. PFA is a safer way to deliver energy to the nerves of the heart in order to suppress atrial fibrillation. This advanced technology was FDA-approved earlier that year, but it required expensive equipment, so it took time to reach our state and city. We are grateful to Mountain View Hospital for committing to this new technology, so we can now bring this vital procedure to Las Vegas. I am proud to represent NCA in being the first in Nevada to perform this groundbreaking procedure in June 2024!
